Some special guests too. The Twist is not a large venue so move fast on this one.

About:
The band 'Dynamo Jump' (now 'Hot Roux')
was born when several musicians started playing together in the Ventura and Santa Barbara, California music scene. After some time, a line-up was solidified and a vast set list was compiled. Combining blues and R&B hits from the likes of Louis Jordan, and Ray Charles with rock-n-roll classics by Chuck Berry, and Fats Domino the band soon attracted a following that would allow them to play any great song regardless of genre. Soon jazz standards from Duke Ellington and Miles Davis were set up next to songs from The Band, and Bob Dylan. After a year or so and hundreds of shows later, Dynamo Jump was ready to record it's own brand of good time music. Albert Lee has been playing with the band for about 5 years as his schedule permits.

Eine liebe Freundin aus der Country-Szene ist nach schwerer Krankheit von uns gegangen, Jill Morris aus Sinzheim/Baden-Baden schloss am 09. März 2024 für immer ihre Augen.

2006 lernte ich sie kennen und traf sie dann jedes Jahr bei den Auftritten von Albert Lee and Hogan's Heroes, Doña Oxford oder Gavin Povey im Ochsen Sinzheim wieder. Ihre Gastauftritte mit Albert Lee & Co., bei denen sie wunderbare Lieder von Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Wanda Jackson ua. mit ihrer tollen Stimme vortrug, bleiben uns in allerbester Erinnerung.

Hier einige Bilder aus diesen schönen Zeiten, die unvergesslich bleiben.

Ruhe in Frieden liebe Jill, und für Andy (Anders Forstmann) ganz viel Kraft in dieser schweren Zeit.

Mit ihrer unverwechselbaren Stimme zieht Jill Morris das Publikum immer wieder in ihren Bann. Ob von einer kompletten Band begleitet, oder lediglich von einer Gitarre musikalisch unterstützt, macht keinen wesentlichen Unterschied.

Whenever time permits, Albert enjoys playing with his cousin-in-law Vikki Lee in the U.S.

Vikki Lee has German/Jewish roots, went to school in Kassel, Germany, and is a lovely lady. Her mother Monica Stella Heymann was from Berlin and emigrated to the US together with her mother (Vikki's grandmother) in 1942. Some time back Vikki asked me to listen to her new audio book (a spoken diary from her late mother) and give a comment on amazon's which I was only too happy to provide. Sad News 07.05.2017

Vikki Lee announces: "Im in shock and so terribly sad to hear the news of the passing of my favorite band member, Chris Ivey (Sticky Vikki & the Pinecones). He was a brilliant pedal steel player. He wanted me to post this video on youtube some time ago, we were all so very thrilled to be playing with Albert, and Chris was proud of his red boots. I will miss you Chris, forever and then some."

"Albert Lee, famous British guitarist, is returning to our area to perform in a concert tonight with his cousin-in-law Sticky Vikki and the Pinecones at The Center for the Arts. Lee spent the mid-'60s as a top R&B guitarist but in the 1970s became one of the top rockabilly guitarists in the world (he's no slouch in country music, either). In fact, he's been named Guitar Player magazine's Best Country Guitarist five times. In England he's a household name, and in Nashville and Los Angeles he's been one of the most in-demand session guitarists there is. He may be found playing behind the Everly Brothers or alongside Eric Clapton. It is his speed, phrasing, feel and choice of notes that have earned him a reputation as a premier country guitarist. Some of the greats he has performed with are Jimmy Page, Emmylou Harris, Ricky Skaggs and Roseanne Cash. A recording artist in his own right, Lee has released four critically acclaimed albums, including two Grammy-nominated instrumental albums, "Speechless" and "Gagged but not Bound." With five solo albums and two albums with his band Hogan's Heroes to his credit, his latest is "Heartbreak Hill," released on the Sugar Hill label in October 2003. Lee is just coming off of tours with former Rolling Stones guitarist Bill Wyman in the fall and with the Everly Brothers. One of the distinguished venues they played in was the Royal Albert Hall in London. "

Brief review by Craig who was there: "16 Jul 2007. Last night, Vikki at Rancho Nicasio was one of those magical evenings. When the planets all align and the band is in-sync with the audience. Albert was ... well Albert Lee was over the top to say the least. When Angela Strehli joined the band to sing the duets with Vikki it was simply AWESOME."

Don Householder wrote about this event: "During the second week of July 2007 I had the privilege of attending a private party and the guest of honor was Albert Lee. A “busman's holiday” for Albert, he performed all evening with a capable little Sacramento area band called “Vikki and the Pinecones”. Miss Vikki's last name is also Lee, and she is apparently Albert's American cousin,... thus his willingness to play at a low key, low (or no) paying gig in some suburban Yank's back yard. What a contrast for him, as he was heading to Chicago on the heals of his visit with Miss Vikki to go play at a festival with Eric Clapton. Albert tore up the fret board as he is known to do, Miss Vikki and her band played like pros and entertained all with numerous humorous original tunes and covers, and I, mid-50 yr old boomer that I am, tried to keep from wetting myself from the excitement of seeing a picking god like Albert in such an intimate venue. Short story long -- the evening was marvellous."
