The brainchild behind the Rhythm Kings is one of the world's most famous bass players - ex-Rolling Stone Bill Wyman.
The project, Bill's first musical venture since leaving the Stones is very close to his heart, and has taken a couple of years of dedicated work to come to fruition. With a little help from his friends, Bill has created a trilogy of albums which includes classic titles from the 1920's to the 1970's as well as some brand new tracks written by Bill and his long time guitarist buddy Terry Taylor.
With material ranging from 50's to 70's on the first release of these three albums, "Struttin' Our Stuff", features some of the world's greatest musicians - Peter Frampton, Georgie Fame, guitar legend Albert Lee, Gary Brooker of Procul Harum fame, Eric Clapton, Paul Carrack (Mike & the Mechanics), percussion wizard Ray Cooper, noted for his work with Elton John, dynamic Graham Broad on Drums who has worked with Madonna and of course Terry Taylor on guitar (ex Tucky Buzzard,) who has collaborated with Bill on many of his solo projects.
Bill Wyman plays bass throughout and occasionally takes lead vocals, sometimes alongside one of Britain's top female singers Beverley Skeete who has worked with Sting, Jamiroquai, Van Morrison, Jools Holland and Chaka Khan and many more, together they sing rippling version of 'Green River', the Creedence Clearwater Revival's 1969 million-seller.
On the Mick Jagger/Keith Richards track "Melody" Beverley joins forces with the legendary Georgie Fame on vocals, Bill on bass and the haunting guitar of Eric Clapton. On other tracks former Procul Harum, frontman Gary Brooker gets into action on organ with Dave Hartley, and Max Middleton supplying amazing piano work throughout.
In a recent interview with French newspaper "Le Figaro", Bill said "I wanted to do this for years. It is the best work of my career and I am very proud of it".
The Rhythm Kings are planning selective live dates in Europe including a London show which will be on Wednesday 15th October at The Forum, Kentish Town, this is Bill Wyman's first performance since leaving the Rolling Stones. Touring with Bill, are Georgie Fame, Peter Frampton, Albert Lee, Gary Brooker, Terry Taylor and Beverley Skeete.
