Rolling Stones shows on a summer night are hard to beat. It seemed to be
my lucky day, I bought a last minute ticket off a guy who had a spare
one and thus could save €60 as ticket fees were exorbitant.

The never
aging band were in great spirits and obviously enjoyed playing. The
setlist included some real gems, it's included in the photo album (thanks to Tamara posting it for the Keith Shrine). 'Just your fool' was definitely one of my highlights and they
can still play the blues !!
To their surprise, the request song was
'She's a rainbow', haven't heard it for ages - beautifully done with Ronnie Wood on lap steel and Chuck Leavell on keyboards. My seat wasn't too bad, the huge screens enabled a good view. Fireworks at the end and nothing but happy faces around !

Kiefer Sutherland gab Konzert in Berlin
Columbia Club next to the old Tempelhof Airfield is a great place for concerts, the beer garden inviting and the staff friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I was rather late and couldn't get to the front, so just a handful of low-key photos possible. However, I teamed up with someone from Brandenburg who had won her ticket from a radio station and we managed to get to the side of the stage from where we had a reasonable view and could escape to the garden when it got too hot inside.
Below a review from a C & W website (sightly shortened) which can be shared. The reviewer says it all so no further comments needed.
aus seinem Debüt-Album „Down in a hole“.
Art Garfunkel - Admiralspalast Berlin
The show was announced as an 'Evening with Songs and Stories' and
that's exactly what it was. All those beautiful songs 'The Boxer',
'Homeward Bound', 'Bridge over Troubled Water', 'Sound of Silence' just
to name a few - a very nostalgic evening. Art also paid tribute to The Everly Brothers
duetting with his son Arthur jr. on 'Let it be me', just wonderful. Then Arthur jr. did 2 songs of his own and addressed the audience in proper
German. I noticed many English speaking people in
the crowd (guess mostly Americans), it was sold out apart from maybe a
handful of seats. The tickets were not very cheap but it was worth every penny.
Between the songs, Art Garfunkel told stories from the old
days and read poems - one even in Hebrew! Some of the songs and the way he performed moved
people almost to tears. What a great Friday night,
grateful to see such a legend - 76 years old as he said. Standing
ovations at the end - well deserved.
Art asked not to take photos during the show as he 'might
lose the plot' - some people had flashed which I thought was not ok - everyone else respected this. I was finally able to snap towards the end when everybody jumped to their feet and moved forward.
