Abschied von Sue Hargreaves

Devastating news: Our good friend Sue Hargreaves is no longer with us, thanks to her children for letting us know. My deepest sympathy goes out to them and their families.
I still remember the first time I got to talk to Sue which was almost 20 years ago at the Eddie Cochran Festival Chippenham.

Always kind and friendly, very efficient in her job, she often helped and secured me a seat when I was late at the gigs coming from far away. So many precious memories from happy times, the list would be endless. Rest in peace dear Sue, missed by so many - always in our hearts 💔

From Albert Lee & Hogan's Heroes Website:
"29th April 2023

We lost Sue Hargreaves on the morning of this day. Sue worked tirelessly for Albert Lee and Hogan's Heroes for many years and when the band called it a day in 2015 she continued to tour manage all Albert's solo work.

On behalf of AL&HH I send condolences and deepest sympathy to her children: Emily and Robin, her grandchildren, extended family and the many many friends Sue made along the way.

She is such a sad loss, but she will not be forgotten...keep travelling onwards and upwards Sue."

Abschied von John Price †

Norman Beaker passed the sad news:
"It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that JOHN PRICE my bass player, right hand man and best friend, passed away 28th April after an heroic battle with illness. We always agreed we would appreciate a life in music and we did. It's always a sad and a difficult time after such a long association, but we have a million memories and friends that we shared together, that will always remain. Condolences to John's family he will be greatly missed by many, a kind, gentle and amusing guy.
Cheers for all the great times."

I was so very sad ro hear about dear John Price's passing. Such a lovely man, great bass player, always kind and a smile on his face. A true gentleman - he will be sadly missed.
Thanks for the music and rest in peace John.
The right photo shows him with the Norman Beaker Band and Larry Garner at Kulturbastion Torgau some time back.

Peter Maffay, Buchsignierung u.

Albert Lee & Band, Altes Theater Magdeburg - 02 April 2023

Albert Lee & Band played the "Altes Theater" Magdeburg on 2nd April 2023 to an enthusiastic audience. First time for the band to play there, also my 1st visit to this place - the closest gig to my hometown, just 1.5 hrs to drive. Albert and the band won over in no time, standing ovations already after "Luxury Liner" which went down a storm and that should go on during the entire show.
The fly in the ointment for me: it was my last gig on this tour 🙁

All that's left is to say thank you for a great time with excellent music - hope to see you all again before too long. ❤
Facing some camera problems so not all photos came out ok.

Albert Lee & Band, Stones Fan Museum Lüchow - 01April 2023

Albert Lee & Band played the Stones Fan Museum at Lüchow, a venue out of the ordinary which is definitely worth a visit.

It's already been a week since the gig took place and I got around only now to post some more or less good photos. The place got rather packed, like-minded people of all ages enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, dancing in the aisles, taking photos of the numerous Rolling Stones related items put together with a love for detail by Ulrich Schroeder and family. Great to catch up with old and new friends and music buddies and swap the latest news.

The band were in great shape and the crowd thanked them with huge applause .All of us had a blast and we hope to get back next year. Next morning saw me on a relaxing drive down to Magdeburg which was not so far away, however, it was my last gig on this tour.
