52. Deutsch-Amerikanisches Volksfest in Berlin / 52nd German-American Volksfest in Berlin, zum zweiten Mal am neuen Standort. Ein Besuch lohnt sich, läppische 2€ Eintritt, und das auch noch als Verzehrbon.

Das 52. Deutsch-Amerikanische Volksfest geht vom 27. Juli bis 19. August 2012 in einem völlig neuen "Outfit" an den Start: Veranstalter Thilo-Harry Wollenschlaeger hat diesmal drei bekannte Themen-Bereiche optisch und inhaltlich gestaltet: "The Big Apple – New York", "Beach’n’Surf: Florida & California" und "Yeehaw: Wild West City". Das Event-Erlebnis reicht unter dem Motto "The New Experience" vom Broadway über einen echten 600 qm großen Sandstrand mit "Beach-Feeling" bis zu einer kompletten Westernstadt. Natürlich kommt auch das Herz der Volksfest-Fans nicht zu kurz: Über 100 Schausteller präsentieren ihre Attraktionen – von aufregenden Fahrgeschäften wie der "Wilden Maus"-Achterbahn über das Kult-Karussell "Break Dance" und das höchste Kettenkarussell der Welt "Top Of The World" sowie familientauglichen Angeboten bis zur fröhlichen Kinderunterhaltung. Schirmherr des 52. Deutsch-Amerikanischen Volksfestes ist der Bezirksbürgermeister von Berlin-Mitte, Dr. Christian Hanke.

Albert Lee’s name is well-known to guitar aficionados. During the ’60s, before becoming known for his recordings with American country and rock icons, the British guitarist spent his ‘apprenticeship’ years performing in a number of English bands. Later work in the ’70s and ’80s with Emmylou Harris, Eric Clapton, Jackson Browne and more, cemented his reputation as a premier guitar-slinger. When not recording or touring with other musicians, Lee enjoys entrancing fans with his own band, which includes J.T. Thomas on keyboards; Will MacGregor on bass; and Jason Smith on drums.  

Albert talks about moving to the United States and playing with his guitar heroes, the solos that cemented his reputation as a top tier country player, and how good it is to be playing back in California.
