Francis Rossi stopped by in Berlin last night for his current show "An Evening of Francis Rossi’s Songs from the Status Quo Songbook and More". Only 10 intimate concerts in Germany planned, on stage just him accompanied by Andy Brook on 2nd guitar and vocals. The performance included a mix of acoustic music, very personal storytelling from the early days, the glory and dark times, and of course Status Quo classics - all spiced up with plenty of dry British humour. //
Gestern abend im nicht ganz ausverkauften Haus des Rundfunks/Großer Sendesaal des RBB. Francis Rossi und Begleitung spielten eine intime Show, wobei Francis zwischendurch Geschichten erzählte, manchmal etwas langatmig - "I Talk Too Much" wie auch der Titel seiner Biographie lautet. Das Publikum wurde zum Mitsingen und Klatschen aufgefordert. Angekündigt waren auch selten gespielte Stücke, diese waren m.E. in der Überzahl und einige kannte ich gar nicht. Richtige Stimmung kam dann auf, wenn Quo-Klassiker gespielt wurden, und zum Schluss gab es standing ovations.
