Bill was telling jokes in his own style but close to the end he placed a bombshell telling us that this would be the last RKs gig ever!
Some time later, the following note appeared on Bill's old website about this tour which shocked us all:
"The news on the UK Tour is that it is probably the last & then Farewell tour of the Rhythm Kings - I've decided that for what it achieves for 4 months work every year (plus all of the Press, Radio & TV promotion I have to do let alone the travelling), it doesn't seem worth the effort any more. I have to think about the time I'm away from my family, & how I will support them financially in the future. I will still consider the odd dates that may come up for special events, but that's it as far as I'm concerned. It's been great, & I want to end it on a high!"(shortened)
The note appeared again later with slightly changed wording. It caused massive regrets, protests and comments by fans on Bill's various message boards, maybe that made him think twice and change his mind.
