Fabrik Hamburg
From: Gudrun, originally sent: 07/11/2005
Last Rhythm Kings' gig in 2005 taking place in Hamburg, and this show was really something to remember. We were happy that the last gig in 2005 took place in Germany and caught up with many fellow-fans we've met on earlier gigs.Waiting
for the doors to open with local friends and the
couple from Braunschweig we met on so many RKs' gigs. Shame it was a wet day and very chilly. Some fans brought guitars, vinyls and books
hoping to get them signed by Bill! We killed time joking and having fun
and eventually we were lucky to be the first ones and make it to the
front row.
They did a fantastic job. A review from DIE WELT can be found at the bottom, very special but it says everything, and there is not much to add from my part. German Boogie Woogie pianist Axel Zwingenberger joined for one song as can be seen from the setlist (see Flickr Album). Everyone in the band is going to other jobs now, but not for long as the Rhythm Kings will be back on the road in late January 2006.
It was a bit sad to say goodbye as they were all so kind giving us a good time at the Danish gigs earlier and now! Would like to thank Terry being so nice to thank us for our support, and Nick - always concerned (thanks for treating us with the very rich and fat-making but sooo tasty cake!!), Frank wishing us well, and everyone else, guys - BIG HUGS. Last not least a big thank you to the friendly bus driver who let us drive behind the bus to make sure to reach our destinations in good order.
The crew was working hard to get all the stuff into the truck. We said thank you to each crew member who became familiar with us because of all the gigs we've been to and who never forgot to supply us with the set lists! Guys, you're just great and did a fantastic job!

Bill blogged about this gig as follows:
CONCERT (Germany): Die Fabrik, Hamburg (Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings)
We went onstage at about 9:10pm to a sold-out standing audience, who gave us great receptions after every song. Our Encores were: 'I Put A Spell On You' (Beverley) & 'Tear It Up' (Albert). We left the stage to tremendous applause from the floor and balconies; returned backstage & relaxed. Our German girl fans [guess who he is talking about ;)] & Dieter Hoffmann were here in the audience. Everyone was thanking each other for the tour saying our goodbyes.
Finally a great review from newspaper DIE WELT released on 9 Nov 05
