Another gig with The Farmers took place earlier this year at The Jackpot Club.

Prior to Albert's upcoming Californian gigs with The Farmers, I found this article by UT San Diego on the web. Although we know most of it, I thought it's a good read and want to share it here.
The guitar hero's guitar hero returns for two Friday shows at Anthology

There’s an excellent reason that Eric Clapton wrote the foreword to “Country Boy,” Albert Lee’s 2008 biography. He’s a longtime fan of Lee, who played in Clapton’s band from 1978 to 1983, following a two-year stay in Emmylou Harris’ very aptly named Hot Band.
More recently, Lee performed on “The Road to Escondido,” the Grammy Award-winning 2006 album by Clapton and spotlight-shunning North County troubadour J.J. Cale.
But Lee, who in the early 1960s replaced Jimmy Page in the English band Neil Christian & The Crusaders, is no stranger to impressive collaborations.
His discography includes albums with Jerry Lee Lewis, Joe Cocker, Bo Diddley, Jackson Browne, jazz saxophonist Eddie Harris, The Crickets and ex-Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman (in whose band, The Rhythm Kings, Lee currently plays).
No less memorable is his sterling work with bluegrass pioneer Earl Scruggs, Dave Edmunds, flutist Herbie Mann, former San Diegan Rosie Flores and the Everly Brothers (in whose band Lee toured from 1983 until the duo’s quiet retirement a few years ago).
For this veteran devotee, however, it is on Lee’s own albums that the soft-spoken guitarist and vocalist shines brightest.
In concert, with his own band, he can more fully demonstrate his wonderfully fluid six-string work, whether playing country, blues, rockabilly or swing. He can also showcase his fine touch as a singer of tender ballads, a skill he first honed in the band Heads, Hands & Feet.
It was as a member of Head, Hands & Feet in the early 1970s that Lee co-wrote and first recorded the ebullient “Country Boy,” which in 1985 became a chart-topping U.S. country hit for Ricky Skaggs. Lee’s performance of the song in concert never fails to delight, be it in a stadium at one of the Clapton-hosted Crossroads guitar festivals or in an intimate club setting.
Lee returns to San Diego for a Friday concert with his new band at downtown’s all-ages Anthology, where - backed by San Diego’s red-hot Eve Selis band - Lee wowed a capacity audience last June (despite major jet-lag after flying in from London the day before).
A longtime Calabasas resident, Lee should be rested and ready to rock for his encore performance at Anthology.Kicking off Friday’s show will be veteran San Diego roots-rockers The Farmers (formerly the Beat Farmers), a band whose reputation for creating musical mayhem is well deserved.
