Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings im Fritz Club am Postbahnhof - 30 Sep 2012

Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings played my hometown on 30 September 2012. The venue changed from Columbia Hall to Fritz Club which was more suitable for the band. It was a stand-up gig, which meant again early queuing. Lots of people from the former East among the audience - some of them were excited to stand face to face with a former Rolling Stone (for the first time!). We shared the front row with nice people, fellow fans and also Rhythm Kings 'newcomers' who were not disappointed and became fans for good.

When Bill came on addressing the audience with kind words and
bringing the band on, the ice was broken from the beginning. Rhythm Kings enjoyed playing to this enthusiastic crowd, especially Frank and Nick won lots of new fans admiring their excellent horn playing. Terry Taylor made up for Albert's absence, doing what he does best - playing the Blues on slide guitar to great response. As to the Berlin audience - they should be given a gold medal, so much appreciation for this great music and thus creating a unique atmosphere! Each band member received extra cheers after every solo. No changes to the setlist, it was over too soon and the band left to thundering applause.

Special thanks to Mary Wilson coming out to the merchandise table after show and patiently signing, posing for photos and having a friendly word for everybody.
