Albert Lee und Hogans Heroes haben gerade anlässlich Alberts 50jährigem Bühnenjubiläum eine Amerikatournee absolviert, bei der viele bekannte Musiker ihm die Ehre als Gast auf der Bühne gegeben haben. Der neue Pianist in Alberts Band ist der Komponist und Produzent mit eigenem Studio Gavin Povey. Credits include: Van Morrison, Sir Cliff Richards, Dave Edmunds, Kirsty MacCall, Shakin Stevens, Graham Parker, Dion, Steve Cropper and Kim Wilson. Albert and the boys interpretieren die ganze Geschichte des Rock'n'Roll, 50 Jahre weltverändernde Musik perfekt intoniert, besser geht's nicht...

My brief review:
Another visit to Bostelmanns Saal. The venue wasn't as packed as usual due to a mistake in the local newspapers who announced the gig for 19th November! Carsten told us that he had complained and asked for a correction but it didn't help much as it was too late. Also, he mentioned some difficulties and hopes to carry on with the venue next year, fingers crossed for him. Nevertheless he introduced the band in a warm welcoming speech and then they got down to business. Great atmosphere from the beginning. I'm adding some reviews by other people who attended. Peter Baron was difficult to get on a photo ... but his 'Oh Darling!' turned out to become THE crowd-pleaser.
A special 'thank you' to the nice buffet lady, as always tasty home-made food at very low prices was offered. It was the bands' last gig on the continent for this year. They had a long journey ahead back to the UK, and I had to drive back home next morning.
It was so nice to catch up with Dieter from Bremerhaven (this time without Maria) we shared a table with Matt Walker and another friend who turned out to be the organizer of the Tossens Country Weekender 'WESTERNTREFFEN TOSSENS'.
