The Music Club says:
"Located in Verviers (East of Belgium) we are very close to the Netherlands and Germany. We welcome lots of customers from these two countries but also from France or from all over Europe and sometimes even Oversea's for some particular shows. This makes us very international !!!! During shows we have to speak French, Dutch, German and, of course, English. This makes everybody feel happy and home.

Our "Route 66" deco style gives our club a very warm atmosphere, similar to many legendary american music bars, and, best of all... we have the chance to have a fantastic acoustic in our venue: our "sound" is something you have to experience !!!

Even with a 350 people limited capacity, we often present some very big names such as Paul Rodgers, Simon Philips, Pat Travers, Peter Greene, Robben Ford, Sage, Wishbone Ash, Billy Cobham, Pendragon, Camel, Albert Lee, Porcupine Tree, Alvin Lee, Allan Holdsworth, Canned Heat, Mick Taylor, Molly Hatchet, Fish, Manfred Mann's Earthband, Steve Hackett, Carl Palmer, Focus, Nazareth etc. etc."

My brief review:
The Spirit of 66 was as busy as always. It was good to catch up with the boys and Sue after their break. Gerry introduced me to Owen, who took over from Ben as a new crew member, a warm welcome to him!

As Sue hadn't been with the band for quite some time spending a long holiday in the USA, we enjoyed a natter during the interval swapping all the latest news. I enjoyed her stories about Malibu, and it was good to see her in great shape.

The audience was much nicer than last time at this venue, and I met a like-minded bunch of people from the German city of Aachen which is just a stone's throw away at the Belgian border. They shared my musical taste and we had a lot to talk about. It turned out that they are regulars at the club and we would meet again next time.

The band played their usual setlist but took me by surprise when Albert announced that it was my birthday! He told the audience that I used to travel so much to see the band play, and dedicated the song LEAVE MY WOMAN ALONE to me. The audience clapped their hands and cheered, I felt a bit embarassed and had a big lump in my throat but couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday with my favourite band !
