As it was Gerry's very special birthday, the band, crew and Sue put him a '70th sign' on one of his amps and decorated even the steel guitar with 'Happy B'day' pennants. Before the gig started, everybody sang Gerry a heartfelt HAPPY BIRTHDAY. As a nice surprise, Swiss friends Roland and Anne showed up unexpectedly, as they were on their way to the annual Shadows Festival at Verden which was not too far away. We shared a table on the gallery which enabled a good view, also the sound was better than downstairs.

Great to catch up with Mareike Eckhardt and husband Andy as well as Gaby and other members of the Band 'Cadi Country Rock!' who were to play at the stunning Western Town 'Pullman City Harz' the following weekend - I will hopefully catch them on one of their next gigs. They brought a guitar along and had it signed by Albert after the show. Needless to mention that Hogan's Heroes were fantastic, no changes to the setlist, and unlike last year, Albert's old buddy Mike Warner did not show up - or had already left earlier. After some more wine and chats we called it a night - another gig ahead next day at Harsefeld.
