What a powerful concert Bruce Springsteen & the 17-piece E-Street Band delivered at the sold-out Olympic Stadium on Wednesday night. Starting at 7 pm sharp a firework of old and new songs was played non-stop to an enthusiastic crowd - the setlist is posted under comments below. Bruce didn't hold back ranting about what's going on in the United States these days, the newspaper articles referred to what he said so I can save my breath. I noticed many English speaking fans around some of which came a long way over from the US, Ireland, UK and Sweden. A fantastic crowd, dancing and singing along. The atmosphere was incredible and people enjoyed themselves to the full.
A touching moment: Bruce dedicated "Chimes of Freedom" to all people from former East Berlin who attended his legendary 4-hour concert behind the Iron Curtain in 1988. A spectacular event and the biggest show that former East Germany ever experienced. Fans not lucky enough to get tickets gathered in masses at the venue hours before the show and eventually forced security to open the gates.
