This venue in the South West of Germany is famous for it's terrific atmosphere.
The
first gig in 2006 was meant to be just a filler between two dates but
turned out to be a bombshell. It was like 'the beginning of a wonderful
friendship' - to use this well-known quotation from a certain movie.
Since then, Albert and the boys should return
every year and will certainly do so in the future. The audience are
awesome, loud cheers for each band member after their terrific soli, and
some people were even dancing on the tables! The Rolling Drunks, a
Karlsruhe band featuring our good friend Georg Grimm, acted as an
acoustic trio and opened for Albert and the boys.
Before
Hogan's Heroes came on, Hans (Johnny or Hutch) Schneider and Jill Morris
introduced the band. Both are country musicians from Southwest Germany.
I've met so many great
people there who have become friends over the years. Special thanks to
the
lovely landlords Ruth and Klaus who are music enthusiastics putting so
much effort into supporting live music and making everybody most welcome
and feel home. Landlord Klaus is also the chief and famous for his
great homemade food.
Lots of stuff to
sign for the boys, and no one left
disappointed. A camera team was there, Albert was interviewed and
the boys had to pose endlessly for photos.
Big thanks also to everybody
else who sent me photos and let me use them, credits are given where necessary.
