Leo Kottke ist der Großmeister der akustischen Gitarre. Tief verwurzelt in der Tradition des Blues und Folk und gleichzeitig Vorbild und Inspiration für die aktuelle Virtuosen-Szene. Und ein toller Songwriter und Geschichtenerzähler noch dazu!

Leo Kottke's last gig in Europe took place on 8 Nov 2012 in Berlin, venue Passionskirche in the district of Kreuzberg, a church which is often used for performing arts of all kinds. Good acoustics were guaranteed. I didn't expect so many people coming, but due to the positive feedback from other German cities he had played earlier lots of fans showed up to see him a second time. Unreserved seating, and the venue was busy in no time. Fortunately they opened the gallery for the public which enabled a better view. Leo started at 8 pm sharp, opened with two acoustic tunes and then carried on with ballads telling funny little stories between the songs which loosened up the atmosphere. There wasn't any setlist and most of the songs were unfamiliar to me. Nevertheless, a great evening with excellent guitar playing.

After the show, Leo took his time signing for his waiting fans, thanking everybody for listening and posing patiently for photos.
