My review:

Weather was bad again but I somehow made it to Hilversum in good time. Hotel and venue were quite easy to find. The gig took place in a Media Park within a building, descriptions were rather confusing. We arrived there very early as it was a stand-up gig and we wanted to get to the front. Queued at the door for a long time but were happy to find some music buddies which we knew from Stones gigs, nice to see Jan and Adele again. They had also been to the Chuck Berry gig one week earlier and we had a lot to talk about. As it was freezing cold the doors were opened earlier to let us in but we had to queue again in the foyer, could at least warm up our frozen feet. We learned later that the Rhythm Kings had their own organisational problems as most of the band members got stuck at Heathrow airport and arrived last minute only!
Despite organisational problems, ridiculous security controls and almost being overrun by what looked like a stampede we eventually made it to the very front row. Rhythm Kings were awesome, I stood right in front of Albert and had an excellent view. Photos were only allowed for press people, but after a while nobody cared and people snapped away. Everybody was in fantastic shape and we enjoyed the show to the maximum. Frank did his duckwalk during "Flatfoot Sam" which was great fun. Geraint's "Johnny B Goode" was brilliant. Bev looked stunning wearing an elegant outfit which caused some interjections by male visitors. When she put her spell on our friend Jan, he shouted "Thank you" and caused some laughter. Everybody rocked and danced and had a fantastic time. "Tear it up" closed the show, outstanding as always, Frank and Nick joked with Albert - they were all so fantastic. Audience left with happy smiles on their faces.
We had a good time later enjoying some drinks in our hotel bar before we called it a night. Next day, Rhythm Kings went on towards Monaco, Albert flew back to Austria and Switzerland to carry on with Hogan's Heroes and I had a long drive ahead back home.

Well I'm sorry it was so cold Gudrun, but it was well worth it from what you said in your message. I'll look forward to the photo's and in the meantime take care and recover as there's so much more ahead, from Beryl.
